About our On-Site Hosted EMS Leadership Academy Training

For best results we highly recommend that our three core programs be delivered together over a short period of time, typically over two days.

The EMS Leadership Academy courses are designed to build on each other to create a transformational experience that will cause positive, long-lasting change for the participants.

Course Objectives & Outlines

Communication: The Foundation for a Thriving Organization & Effective Leadership

Enhancing communication is the first step to becoming an effective leader. This interactive and engaging program gives you cutting edge practices & strategies for dealing with conflict and difficult people, overcoming barriers and getting the results you want.

At the completion of this program participants will learn: 

  • The barriers to effective communication
  • A framework for communicating effectively
  • How to speak to positively influence others
  • To resolve conflicts with ease​
  • Strategies for dealing with frustration, burn out and stress

Leadership I: Breathing Life Into Your Organization

Leadership is more than a position or a title – It’s a desire to bring out the best in others. This innovative training will enhance your capacity to be an effective leader in the world of Emergency Services Organizations & beyond. You will learn how to: Influence others without manipulation or coercion, Bring out the Best in others, and Begin to create a vision others want to follow.

  • Become the kind of leader people want to follow

Leadership II: Advancing Leadership Capacity

Building on the foundation of the Leadership I course, this program delivers advanced strategies for designing a sustainable organization. The topics covered: Bringing a vision to reality, Holding others accountable and Not doing it all yourself will solidify the successful future of your organization.
     Note: Leadership I is a pre-requisite

Coaching: Bringing out the Best in Others

Exceptional employees are not born; they are developed. Coaching is a powerful tool for unleashing the potential in your employees. Think about it; what do all exceptional athletes have in common? They have an effective coach. Coaching is distinct from traditional managing or supervising. Coaching requires a shift in perspective, attitude, and a different framework for interactions. This transformational program provides a framework for coaching and the tools needed to coach effectively. ​ 

  • The fundamental role of a coach and the underlying context necessary for an effective coaching relationship

  • The six distinctions of coaching that are vital to success

  • How to utilize coaching to develop employees to be highly engaged peak performers

Leadership Training for the Southern Tier of New York

The Southern Tier Health Care System has hosted our three foundational programs in a weekend setting. This course is open to invitation only.

Weekend EMS Leadership Bootcamp - Lake Placid, NY

A weekend format for course delivery for the Mountain Lakes Region of the Adirondacks for a NYS Recruitment & Retention grant. Attendees completed the Communication Course, Leadership I, Leadership II and a select group of outside participants were trained in the EMS Coach & Mentor program.

New York State Vital Signs - Pre-conference

Three signature programs were delivered at the NYS Vital Signs EMS Conference as a pre-conference with participants from all areas of New York.

Leadership Development for the Capital Region

The Albany NY REMO region has hosted our three foundational programs.
